What started out as an inside joke turned into a posse. My boy Carlo aka Brega from Italy and his crew (hardcore kids) started this a few years ago. It’s purpose I don’t know. Brega hits me up yesterday and tells me he gets an interview on Cocal4life. If you can read Italian read Interview here. He’s fucked up.
Carlo, sei davvero un cojon.

Mark: “I just got back from Halifax yesterday”
Maura: “Oh yeah, how was it?”
Mark: “Good. My dad made me go through some of my old boxes and I found this Black Flag tape I had stolen when I was 12 from my friend’s older brother. I’m giving it you. It’s yours.”
Maura: *Almost passes out*

Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair’s Autumn ‘09 collection brings a little (wanted) drama into our lives, by shaping fabrics to construct different embellished shapes and silhouettes. Inspiration was drawn from Picasso’s paintings, “Girl with a mandolin” and “Guitar,” and multiple checked fabrics and tweeds were thrown together to create different shades of color. Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair was hoping to capture a clown’s feelings and expressions. Other inspirations include the work of artists Jeanne Claude and Christo.

Over the last week I’ve been finding myself trying to find gems on the internet. From a Bad Brains T-shirt in my size to womens Visvim Gabo Elk. 15 year old Lotto soccer shorts, 11 Japanese issues Huge magazine and of course these Diadora Roberto Baggio turf boots were apart of my gold mining. I wonder what next week will be like.

We’re having a contest on Hearty. Our Bag Dump contest is pretty simple: you dump your bag and show us what you’ve got hiding. No secrets in this casa, we want to see it all. Then snap a picture (we also accept drawing interpretations and/or a list of contents) and send it over to your hearty ladies at win@heartymagazine.com for a chance to win. This time around it’s an amazing package from Stussy, including the Stussy Ziggy Logo Duffle Bag, Ziggy Logo Scarf, Ziggy Logo Wallet and Zig Zag Bomber. We’ve got you completely covered for the colder seasons. But hurry up and get to it, contest ends November 30.
Hearty writers have to participate. Here’s mine.

The Football Gods have blessed me this summer. It’s been overwhelming.
River Plate vs Montreal Impact – I took my Argentina family out for this one. Huge River Plate fans. They haven’t been to a River game since they moved to Montreal.

UEFA CUP Qualification: AS Roma vs MFK Kosice

I’ll have to say the the Inter practice and game was an obvious favorite. I got to meet Materazzi, and AC Milan’s coach Leonardo to name a few. Next summer: Maradona. No questions asked.
For the past 3 months JK, Jessica, Vincent and, I have been taking painting classes at Gora Gallery’s Creative Boost school. It is the first time I am experiencing with the arts. It has changed my perspective of things. We are all presently working on projects for an exhibition we will be having at the gallery at the end of November. I’ll give you a hint, all our painting reflect us. It’s things that we talk about, wear, do, eat. We are all painting what we love. Stay tuned for exhibition details.
