About a month ago, founder and editor-in-chief Hana May from Hearty Magazine contacted me to be apart of the Hearty team. I’ve failed to mention on Aura With An M that I accepted her request and have been contributing as a news writer for the magazine. Yey!
note: Don’t get it mixed up now. I don’t have one of those side blogs on there. I am strictly a contributor that only writes about news, events, and products on the front page/news section.
I have 900 pictures and more to come. I leave in a few to go see AS Roma play Europa (Uefa Cup). I know I am an interista fan but I cannot deny the excitement I have to see an official Fifa approved competitive game.
Tomorrow I flee back to Montreal. 10 days has gone by too fast. I am definitely not ready to start saying my goodbyes to my family and new friends. But I know my farewells will mean nothing since I plan to come back every year or so. This has been a trip that should have been done years ago, but now I have finally met my entire extended family and gone to my village in Calabria. Here is my list of what I am going to miss the most.
REAL GELATO
THE STREETS OF CENTRO ROMA
MY COUSINS
DASA, CALABRIA MY VILLAGE
THE FOOD
THE BEACH AND BOAT RIDES ALONG THE COAST OF CALABRIA
I just arrived in Rome. This ancient city reminds me of Athens a little. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is. To top things off, my family is so awesome.
I just had a huge plate of fresh pasta, wine and capicollo. Its 10:30am in Montreal but 4:30pm here. Lol its not working out for my stomach right now. Trying to fight the jetlag right and avoiding the siesta. My blog will not be updates as much as I would like it to be.
Back in July, Montreal’s very own bike shop Brakeless and street/skate brank RVCA hosted a BBQ followed by a city bike ride. The evening ended with a movie screening of Council of Doom and Mash SF with an after party at Salon Officiel. The video of the night was just released. Check it out. I was there!!
My blackberry has died and wont turn back on. Replaced it with a friend’s old BB, however this one seems to be bugging as well. What the hell? I’m leaving for Italy in 3 days. I don’t have the patience for this right now lol.
In other news, Bought these womens Visvim Keifer Mayan hi from Neek from Vegas. Peep his new blog The Breakfast of Champions. Definitely something worth following.
ACNE Summer 10 lookbook has leaked. The collection is made up of fringe, leather, and acid wash jeans. Nothing I can see myself wearing. However I trust ACNE enough to know that is what’s going to be hot for next summer. Even then, I still can’t do it. Knee pads? I’ll stick to the basics.
Via Hearty Magazine.
La Linea is an Italian animated series created by Osvaldo Cavandoli in 1969. The episodes usually last 2-3 minutes and it is often used as an interstitial program. The character was a man drawn as a single outline around his silhouette, walking on an infinite line of which he is a part of. Faced with different obstacles, the character is know by his attitude and Milanese (intensely) gibberish dialect. I got a La Linea tee to remind me of my childhood watching RAI TV. Merci Paul.
Watch a La Linea episode here.
I went to watch the game with the usual crowd. Jesse brought little Romeo along with him. I had him in my arms the whole time. The new boyfriend even yells at the players to stop sleeping on the pitch.
